Песня написана в 1934 году: слова Хейвена Гиллеспи, музыка Дж. Фреда Кутса. В ней Санта похож не на доброго дедушку, а на того, кто всё про тебя знает и ведёт список, — «checking it twice, gonna find out who’s naughty and nice». Второй вариант на странице именно с этим куплетом про список, в первом его нет.
